Our dedicated core of senior staff, coaches, and educators from across New England shares not only a deep love for the game but also an unwavering commitment to player development. With accomplished experience across playing and coaching careers at the youth, club, high school, prep, and collegiate levels, our team delivers a powerful blend of knowledge and mentorship—empowering every camper to elevate their game.

Our coaches are fully dialed in, delivering a comprehensive curriculum that blends focused skill development with both planned and incidental teachable moments. They bring decades of playing and certified coaching experience, along with a genuine passion for helping young athletes grow. Their enthusiasm is contagious, creating an environment where learning, progress, and a love for the game thrive.

Led by our DIRECTOR OF LACROSSE and our core SENIOR STAFF COACHES, our culture revolves around a growth mindset that challenges players to push their boundaries, refine their skills, and develop a strong lacrosse IQ. We take immense pride in maximizing every minute of training and playing time on the island, ensuring that when our campers leave, they’re equipped with the tools and confidence to continue progressing with their home clubs and teams.

WINNILAX Coach Garrett McLean DIRECTOR OF LACROSSE

Garrett McLean is a seasoned lacrosse professional whose extensive experience and unwavering passion for the game make him an invaluable asset as the Director of Lacrosse at WINNILAX BOYS CAMP. With a career that spans high school, collegiate, and national-level coaching, Garrett is committed to fostering player development, leadership, and growth both on and off the field. His leadership is essential in shaping the camp’s comprehensive lacrosse curriculum, ensuring that campers not only sharpen their individual skills but also develop a deep understanding of team play, strategic thinking, and mental toughness.

As the Head Coach of the Berwick Academy lacrosse program in South Berwick, ME, Garrett leads a program built on a foundation of player development, leadership, strong character, and competitive success. Known for his ability to connect with players and fellow coaches, Garrett tailors his coaching approach to help each athlete maximize their potential. His philosophy pushes athletes to strive for excellence while cultivating a genuine love for the game. At WINNILAX, Garrett brings this same philosophy, utilizing his keen eye for player development to elevate every camper’s experience. He ensures that every moment on the field—whether during drills, game situations, or downtime—is an opportunity for growth.

Garrett’s role as the Maine Program Manager for 4Leaf Lacrosse, a nationally recognized AA Club, further enhances his ability to develop talent at the highest levels. In this capacity, he plays a pivotal role in guiding upperclassmen through the college recruiting process, helping them navigate the competitive landscape of NCAA Lacrosse. His expertise in the recruiting process is a tremendous asset to WINNILAX, ensuring that our campers are equipped with the tools, skills, and mindset necessary to take their game to the next level, should they choose to pursue collegiate lacrosse.

With extensive coaching experience across various programs, Garrett has held positions at St. Thomas Aquinas (NH), York High School (ME), Bridgton Academy (ME), Westminster University (UT), and with the Utah U15 National Team. His diverse coaching background allows him to bring a wealth of knowledge and innovative instructional strategies to WINNILAX, tailoring his coaching style to meet the unique needs of every camper. Garrett’s leadership not only shapes the lacrosse program but also sets the tone for the camp’s culture, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, leadership, and a lifelong passion for the game.

Garrett’s dedication to growing the game extends well beyond his high school and club coaching roles. He serves on the Board of Directors for Marshwood Youth Lacrosse, where he ensures that young athletes have access to high-quality coaching and opportunities for growth. He is also a coach at the prestigious Navy Lacrosse Camps and the Sua Sponte Lacrosse & Leadership Camp, where he develops both lacrosse skills and leadership qualities in young athletes. His ability to integrate character-building lessons with high-level lacrosse training makes him a uniquely valuable coach who develops well-rounded athletes.

A native of Randolph, NJ, Garrett was a standout collegiate player at Wheaton College (MA), where he graduated in 2011. His deep-rooted passion for the sport began early, and his experience as a collegiate athlete informs his coaching philosophy. Garrett understands the rigors and rewards of balancing athletics with academics and instills these values in every camper, preparing them for success both on the field and in life.

In addition to his impressive lacrosse pedigree, Coach McLean is also a master stick stringer, blending precision, creativity, and performance. His years of perfecting this craft have earned him a reputation as a trusted “stick doctor,” fine-tuning pockets for players at all levels. At WINNILAX, Coach McLean plans to share his expertise with campers during free time, offering valuable tips on stringing techniques and how to customize their sticks for optimal performance. He’ll also be on hand to make quick adjustments or fixes whenever needed. As our Captain of Player Development and leader in on-field planning, Garrett’s leadership as Director of Lacrosse blends a wealth of experience, a comprehensive coaching curriculum, and an unwavering passion for developing the next generation of lacrosse athletes. His keen eye for player growth, steadfast commitment to excellence, and ability to effectively support the staff in both training and game operations make him an indispensable part of our leadership team. Garrett’s holistic approach ensures that every camper not only departs with improved lacrosse skills but also with a deeper understanding of the game, sharpened leadership abilities, and the essential tools to excel both on and off the field.

WINNILAX Coach Josh Jordan SENIOR STAFF

Coach Josh Jordan brings a fountain of knowledge, infectious energy, and unwavering passion to the island, making him an integral part of our WINNIPESAUKEE BOYS LACROSSE CAMP SENIOR COACHING STAFF. His deep Indigenous roots, elite playing background, and dynamic coaching presence reflect a lifelong commitment to the game and its growth.

A four-year starter at Brewster Academy (NH), Josh was a force on the field—earning All-Conference Lakes Region honors all four years and leading the Bobcats to their most successful season in school history. As a junior, he helped power Brewster to an 18–2 record and a top-20 national ranking, and was named to the Lakes Region All-Star Team. In his senior campaign, he dominated offensively with 61 goals and 37 assists, earning NNELL All-League and First Conference All-Star Team recognition. He also showcased his talent on the national stage as a former 3D New England National Team member, Under Armour All-America nominee, and participant in the prestigious Under Armour Underclassmen Games.

Josh went on to have an accomplished collegiate career at the Division I level, beginning at Rutgers University, where he was a three-year starter (2016–2018). As a freshman midfielder, he led the team in points and was honored with the John Collins Award for Athletic and Academic Excellence. After transferring to the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) in 2019, he became a key contributor, helping lead the Retrievers to an America East Conference Championship—cementing his status as a high-impact player with a championship pedigree.

Currently, Coach Jordan serves as the Offensive Coordinator for the Varsity Men’s Lacrosse team at Groton School (MA). In this role, he plays a pivotal part in developing and mentoring student-athletes, guiding them to reach their full potential both on and off the field. His leadership, strategic mind, and player-first approach have left a lasting mark on the Groton lacrosse program.

In addition to his work at Groton, Josh is a highly respected coach with 4Leaf Lacrosse, a nationally recognized club committed to nurturing elite talent and preparing players for the demands of college lacrosse. His experience and mentorship are instrumental in helping athletes navigate the increasingly competitive recruiting process.

With his extensive playing experience, coaching acumen, and deep passion for developing future leaders, Coach Jordan is a cornerstone of TEAM WINNILAX. His ability to empower young athletes, instill a winning mindset, and foster a love for the game makes him more than just a coach—he is a mentor, role model, and driving force behind our mission to elevate every camper’s game while instilling the lifelong values of discipline, leadership, and teamwork.

WINNILAX Coach Matthew Landry SENIOR STAFF

Coach Matthew Landry is an invaluable addition to our WINNIPESAUKEE BOYS LACROSSE CAMP SENIOR STAFF, bringing a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to the island. His remarkable lacrosse journey began at Duxbury High School, where he graduated in 2008 after an extraordinary career. As a key member of the 3-Time DIVISION 1 MIAA State Champion Team (2006, 2007, 2008), Matthew’s dominance on the field was unmatched—he never lost to an in-state opponent during his entire high school career. His athletic excellence extended beyond lacrosse, earning 7 varsity letters across three sports: soccer (3x), hockey (1x), and lacrosse (3x), showcasing his versatility and competitive drive.

Matthew carried that same dedication and work ethic to Hartwick College, where he earned a degree in Business Management while being a committed 4-year member of the lacrosse team. His versatility and determination were evident as he started his collegiate career as an attackman during his sophomore year before transitioning to a 2nd line midfielder for his junior and senior seasons.

Coach Landry’s love for the game remains as strong as ever. He continues to play weekly in men’s pickup games and proudly competes in the South Shore Amateur Men’s Lacrosse Circuit, representing The Shuckers with the same intensity and passion that defined his earlier career. His ongoing dedication to playing the sport keeps him deeply connected to the game and fuels his ability to relate to and inspire the athletes he coaches.

Beyond his impressive resume, Matthew brings something even more valuable—strong values centered on faith, family, and work ethic. As a devoted husband and father, he understands the importance of instilling these values in the next generation of athletes. His ability to mentor, inspire, and teach young players goes far beyond Xs and Os—fostering character, discipline, and a love for the game. His presence as a TEAM WINNILAX SENIOR STAFFER not only enhances the lacrosse curriculum but also strengthens the camp’s culture by emphasizing the importance of respect, integrity, and personal growth.

Known for his ability to connect with players, inspire teammates, and build a positive culture, Matthew is more than just a coach—he’s a mentor and role model who shapes young athletes into leaders both on and off the field. Whether he’s helping a camper fine-tune their skills or sharing insights from his own championship experiences, Coach Landry’s impact is felt in every aspect of the WINNILAX experience.
