We know that the first day of camp is a big moment filled with excitement and anticipation, and we’re here to make sure everything goes smoothly for you and your camper. With that in mind, we’ve thoughtfully designed an arrival process that helps set a relaxed, stress-free tone from the very beginning.

Please take a moment to review this information so you’re all set for a wonderful start on Friday, August 20th, when camper check-in begins at 1:00 PM. Families of campers attending Week 1 only should plan to return for pickup between 1:30 PM and 1:45 PM on Tuesday, August 24th.

Our closing ceremony will begin at 2:00 PM and will be a heartwarming end to a memorable camp session. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to support you throughout your WINNILAX Camp experience!

Please plan to stop for a meal or bring lunch with you so your camper is fully fueled upon arrival. After completing the check-in process, setting up their bunks, and taking part in our welcome and player evaluations, campers will enjoy their first delicious camp dinner at 5:00 PM.

FRIDAY CAMP ARRIVAL | August 20th @ 1:00 PM

Upon arrival, drive directly under the camp entrance sign and continue straight down the main entry road. Follow the signage to the designated parking area. From there, walk toward the lake with your camper’s equipment bag, lacrosse stick, and personal luggage. You’ll line up at the Marina Docks, located to the right of the totem pole, where you and your camper will wait with their belongings to board the cruiser for the ride over to the island and official camp check-in.

SNACK SHACK SELECTION & PAYMENT

Families wishing to select a WINNILAX Snack Shack option for their camper can complete payment using cash or check.

WINNILAX GEAR PURCHASES PICK UP / PAYMENT

Pick up and pay for your PRE-ORDERED WINNILAX merchandise at the Check In table. Bring cash or check for payment. While supplies last, a limited inventory of WINNIBRAND™ gear items will also be available for purchase at the Gear Table!

NURSE CHECK IN & MED DROP OFF NURSES TABLE

Families, if applicable, please be prepared to provide your camper’s properly packaged and labeled medications, along with any relevant medical information or care instructions, for review with our Registered Nurse.

If your camper has additional dietary needs or will be bringing specialty food items, please ensure these arrangements have been communicated through your camper’s Medical Form and via email in advance. During Nurse Check-In, kindly review these needs with our nurse and have any labeled cooler or tote containing specialty food items ready so our staff can coordinate appropriate storage in the Island Mess Hall refrigerator and/or Infirmary before cabin setup.

CABIN ASSIGNMENT LISTS SEE BOARD

Upon arriving to the Island, Campers & Families check the Cabin Assignment Board (Lists). Head to your cabin, meet your counselors, and get set up together. Once you are settled in get ready to play & take a family cabin photo.

MOVE IN & SET UP CABIN BUNKS

After campers and families arrive on the island and complete the Main Check-In Steps, they will refer to the Cabin Assignment Board (Lists). Families are welcome to accompany their camper to their cabin, help make the bed, meet their cabin counselor(s), and get settled in together. Once settled, be sure to get your equipment, cleats, and jersey on because we will be headed out to the fields for our camp welcome and player evaluation scrimmages once everyone has arrived! Take a moment to snap a few family photos at the cabin or by the lake as you begin saying your goodbyes for the duration of your camper’s stay.

ISLAND MESS HALL WATER & PHOTO OP.

Once your cabin is set up and you are suited up to play, grab your stick and water bottle and head over to the Mess Hall with your family to fill up your water bottle and maybe snap a family photo by the lake.

Gluten Free & Specialty Diet SPECIAL NOTE

For Week 1-only campers who brought specialty food items to camp, any remaining items will be available for return to families at the Nurse’s Table following the Closing Ceremony.

For campers attending BOTH WEEKS and remaining on the island, specialty food items will remain in designated storage throughout their continuous camp stay and will be returned at the conclusion of their final session on Sunday, August 29th.

Families who have arranged to pick up their BOTH WEEKS camper between sessions should coordinate the return or continued storage of specialty food items with our staff in advance.

FAMILY GOODBYES & DEPARTURE BON VOYAGE

Families will say their camper goodbyes, grab a few photos and can check out the merchandise table.

WINNILAX CRUISER TO MAINLAND PARENT DEPARTURE

Families will then head to the dock to take the cruiser back to their cars on the mainland. Families of Week 1-only campers will return on Tuesday, August 24th, between 1:30–1:45 PM for the Closing Ceremony and camper departure.

Families of BOTH WEEKS campers are welcome to attend the Week 1 Closing Ceremony but are not required to return until the conclusion of their camper’s full 10-day experience, unless they have made prior arrangements to pick up their camper following the Week 1 Closing Ceremony and return on Wednesday, August 25th, for Week 2 check-in.

TUESDAY CLOSING CEREMONY & PICK UP | August 24th @ 1:45 PM

Families, please plan your travel to arrive back at camp between 1:30–1:45 PM. Park in the same designated parking lot as arrival day and proceed to the mainland Baseball Field. In the event of rain, the Closing Ceremony will take place inside the Mainland Sports Center.

The Closing Ceremony begins promptly at 2:00 PM. Upon its conclusion, Week 1 campers departing camp will be dismissed to their families, and any remaining medications will be returned directly to parents or guardians at the Nurse’s Table.

Camper luggage and equipment will be organized and labeled, either directly with your camper or at the basketball courts, for easy loading and departure—marking the conclusion of an incredible week of WINNILAX BOYS CAMP!

MULTI WEEK CAMPERS REMAIN W/ STAFF

Campers attending BOTH WEEKS will participate in the Week 1 Closing Ceremony on Tuesday, August 24th, before returning to the island with our staff for a special transition day and overnight to relax, recharge, and get ready for another amazing week of WINNILAX!

Parents of BOTH WEEKS campers do not need to attend the Week 1 Closing Ceremony unless they wish to or have made specific arrangements to pick up their camper and return the following day, Wednesday, August 25th, for the Week 2 check-in process.

Gluten Free & Specialty Diet SPECIAL NOTE

If you have indicated in your Reservation Confirmation / Medical Form and communicated with us via email that you plan to bring a labeled cooler or tote containing specialty food items beyond our gluten-free menu options, please review these arrangements with our staff at the Nurse Check-In Table upon arrival.

Families should bring these items with them to the island during the check-in and move-in process for appropriate storage in the Mess Hall refrigerator and/or Infirmary.

For campers attending a single week, any remaining specialty food items will be available for return at the Nurse’s Table following the Closing Ceremony. Items belonging to campers attending BOTH WEEKS will remain in designated storage throughout their continuous camp stay and will be returned at the conclusion of their final session.
